2024 PLSEA Grant Recipients

Each year PLSEA looks forward to supporting Special Olympics of Minnesota by taking the Polar Plunge at Sand Point Beach. This year 8 teams and approximately 70 staff members raised over $23,000 to race into Prior Lake on a balmy 14 degree day. Even Fox 9s Ian Leonard was impressed with our crew.

PLSEA had some members attend the Pension Rally at the capitol on February 29th. Teachers across the state are fighting for fair pensions so we are not penalized 25% if we retire at age 62. Currently, to receive your full pension with no penalty, the teacher retirement age is 65. PLSEA members also met with MN Senator Eric Pratt, MN Senator Lindsey Port, House Representative Jess Hanson and House Representative Ben Bakeberg to discuss educational issues that are important for our community and students.

Student Assistance Fund
